I was born in Brawley. Imperial Valley is my county, poor or rich, but I love it. What I don’t like is that everybody from different counties wants to dump all their hazardous material and sludge in our county.
First they brought it to Imperial; now, Niland. I have gone to four different workshops and they are all the same — trying to say it’s safe for the environment and putting flowers and perfume to make it look good.
In the first place, if it’s as safe as they say, how come they don’t put it in their backyards? Imagine, all these germs from all kinds of sick people being brought to this county because some greedy people want to make a few dollars no matter how many lives they destroy with this sludge plant.
People of Imperial Valley — if you don’t love yourself enough to stop this, think about your children, your grandchildren and all the future generations to come.
Besides that, the Liberty Energy plant uses a lot of our precious water that they have already taken from us in order to run this plant. Besides the germs, they say they will need a lot more of our water to run this new plant; check on that too. Do we need this? I say if the Imperial Valley Supervisors don’t stop it, it’s going to be their fault if it passes through. Some people are pushing it for their own greed. I am sure there is money put under the table so they can help them pull it through.
People, if you ever want to do something good for the Valley, stop this plant from ruining our county with their germs and protect our precious water that we need to survive.
