The Imperial County Planning and Development Services Department intends to prepare a Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Mesquite Regional Landfill, Conditional Use Permit (CUP) #06-0003.  Comments regarding the scope of the EIR will be accepted at this meeting.  The Los Angeles Sanitation District would like to import trash using 200 trucks per day to do so.  Moreover, they would like to dump in Imperial County approximately 600 tons of ash per day.  They currently have been permitted to import the trash through rail and have not been permitted to do so by truck nor to import ash from incinerators.
